3.5? The portions of the book devoted to Weiss’s teenage experience are vivid & lived-in, but the more reportorial sections feel comparatively more stilted and less artful. I would have liked to see greater consistency in tone.

The book itself was fascinating and enthralling. Creepy and cool. Weiss’ honesty about things one might not want to share, is engaging, familiar, and comforting.
And I absolutely LOVED the woman who read it.
I was captivated by her voice. (Yes, I listened to the audio book)

The author spent the whole book hinting at "what happened" but in the final chapters the ending was a big let down. She stretched out her story and the story of what her tennis coach was doing and neither story was enough for a full book.

I tried to finish this book but couldn’t for the life of me. It’s just…. boring. Which is not a good look for a true crime book.
