the writing (or, the translation of it) wasn’t my cup of tea, it made it a little hard to get into the story. but i did end up liking the story and especially the twist fairly well.

This book was simultaneously predictable and was not. It was entertaining enough but the characters were all people I would hate to spend time with. This was definitely a bit of a love letter to the genre, which is a genre I’ve read exactly one book in. I’m positive other people will love this, it’s just not for me.
