I enjoyed the novel a lot. This rating is mostly for the audiobook which is narrated oddly almost like a robot was reading it.

Ooooooh this was so good! I finished it last night and yet I am still cackling with delight. This book has apparently been a classic in Japan for decades already, and was translated into English for the first time in 2015. It owes a lot to the famous ‘And Then There Were None’ by Agatha Christie, which it is a homage to, but this is also a brilliantly constructed novel with its own personality and twists, and there is so much suspense and tension and suspicion which builds as the situation gets slowly worse... I can’t praise it enough! I can say I suspected one person for a correct reason though there was sooo much more to it that I did not see coming and there is an extremely clever twist at the end which I thoroughly enjoyed.
