this was just a solid mystery and is definitely a standard for how mysteries should be at their core. I liked everything about this book, but ultimately I just found it dry and slightly boring. Which is probably due to the 70ish year gap between this book’s release and my birth. I just found and then there were none a more engaging read compared to murder on the orient express. But Agatha Christie is the ultimate baddie and I was going to give it 4 stars just cause she was that girl and was a brilliant writer. Live laugh Poirot!

Intricate plot and a story that wraps up well- couldn’t ask for more in a mystery. Love all of the clever twists too!

I expected more of this book. The ending was predictable and I realised exactly what happened in the middle of the book which kinda disappointed me. However story was really nice and I would enjoy the ending more if I didn't see it coming

Alright, let’s talk about Murder on the Orient Express. I mean, who doesn’t know the plot by now? A man gets murdered on a train stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere, and Hercule Poirot has to crack the case. Classic. But let me tell you, the ride’s more of a mind-bender than you might think.

First off, I’ve read this before. Back in my tacky, emo phase, when I thought I was too cool for anything mainstream (I was wrong, sigh). But, man, even back then, this book left me questioning my sanity. The mystery is challenging—like, who didn’t have a reason to kill the victim? You’ll change your mind a billion times on who did it. Seriously, it’s like being on a rollercoaster where every twist makes you feel dumber for not guessing it earlier.

I won’t lie—I was not sharp enough to figure it out. I still wouldn’t be able to. So, no progress in my detective skills, folks. If anything, my brain’s still stuck on “What?” every time I get to the end.

That being said, please read this book. Agatha Christie, you clever genius, you’ve done it again. The way she turns every single person on that train into a potential suspect? Brilliant. And the mystery is executed so well, you’ll find yourself speculating and re-speculating until the very end.

Bottom line: this book’s an absolute classic, and no amount of re-reading will ever make you feel like you’re truly in control of the mystery. Murder on the Orient Express is the one train ride you won’t mind being stuck on—just make sure you’ve got your grey cells ready for a workout.
