I enjoy Agatha Christie’s books and this one was a great murder mystery. Her writing isn’t anything revolutionary and is a bit dated now but she’s a great storyteller and certainly doesn’t write a predictable story which I appreciate.
A great read.

Well written and a great mystery - kept me guessing until the very end. The writing style wasn’t really my thing.

4.5/5 ⭐️
My second of Agatha’s and this is soooooo much better than the murder of Roger Ackroyd, the way this story is told is exquisite. The author is aware of how overwhelming so many peoples pieces of evidence is so summarises it for you, the way the crumbs of evidence are given to you is the perfect pacing to give you things to guess at but not enough as to know for sure of who it is and the originality of the storytelling makes me understand why everyone idolised her as the go to mystery crime author in previous generations.
It kept me guessing constantly throughout of who has committed the crime and I didn’t realise who it was until just before it was revealed which made it a gripping read. The only reason this isn’t a 5* is that because there’s so many characters I didn’t really connect with any of them but the ending was just

Audio narration with Branagh is amazing! I’m thinking Christie isn’t my bag though. Feels like in both novels I’ve read the revelation scenes connect very far flung dots that have been largely hidden, or the significance of them hidden, from the reader rather than allowing the reader to participate along in solving the mystery.
