Good not great. I thought there was at least one large assumption made early on that just about everything else in the story hinged upon. It was like having a proverbial rock in my shoe ... at times I forgot about it and really enjoyed what i was reading; at other times it annoyed the shit out of me.

I can’t say I ever thought about reading an 88 year old murder mystery book. by Agatha Christie.
It wasn’t until I read The Christie Affair that I knew that I had to read Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
This achieves everything it set out to achieve. The elegance of train travels, the mystery of a murder and the complexity with which Agatha Christie writes to keep you guessing at every turn. It truly is amazing how she was able to pack all that into a small compact book that for an added bit of information, was first published as a six installment series in the Saturday Evening Post!

Sigh, I wanted so very much to like this book. And I did enjoy the funny bits, but it just read like a bunch of people listing out random details that I’m supposed to try to keep straight if I want to solve the mystery, and I just found myself unable to care. I’ll watch the movie one of these days.
