slow-paced

cool! i like murder mysteries! i also liked having seen the movie (2017) so i could get a clear picture of the characters since agatha christie is not my favourite author for keeping the characters separated mentally haha but it did seem quite different from the movie so i want to watch that one again! not a very thorough review but oh well i don’t really have a lot to say haha
the narration was incredible by the way i loved how the narrator changed his voice for all the characters

I know I read this when I was younger (probably in junior high, when I went through a mystery phase). I definitely remembered who the murderer was, but I will admit that I still couldn't figure it out while I was listening to it this time around. I kept thinking maybe I had remembered it wrongly. Anyhow, I enjoyed this a lot. Dan Stevens narrated the audio, and he was fantastic. I don't always enjoy when actors do the reading, but he did great. I would listen to him read many things.

I think this is one of Agatha Christie’s best Poirot mysteries. I have seen the movie before, so I knew the main twist (the murderer) but I had forgotten some of the smaller twists
like exactly who each person was and how were they related to the Armstrongs, like the fact that Mary was the other governess at the Armstrong’s (I thought she might be the sister to the main governess who committed suicide), or that Michel was in on it (tho I suspected it), and specially that he was the governess’s father. I also had forgotten that Linda Arden was the one who confronted Poirot at the end, I thought it was the princess
; and I found myself trying to figure them out by myself anyway, while also seeing everything with the eyes of someone who knows the end, which was very interesting bc it allowed me to see things I would have probably overlooked if I hadnt seen the movie before.
It did get a little tedious towards the 60% mark, during the interviews, but I can overlook it.
