It was interesting to hear about how everything fell into place to lead to her eating disorder, I wasn’t a big fan of the writing style. I think she was trying a little too hard to bring humour into this book. I think there were definitely parts that were funny and that’s ok but there were some points when some of the writing felt a little childish.

Great story, love that it was read by the author. I hope that she has been able to heal herself.

This is the fastest I've ever read a book in a very long time. I actually could not put this down.

It was fine. Not very well written but I forgave it because she said she was discouraged from writing and is now honing her skill now that she has control over her life. Good for her.

Even though I'm giving this a 5 star, I don't know how to properly rate it with the star rating system.

If you're interested in reading this, and don't know much about Jannettes story I'll give a couple TWs here: Abuse from a parent, ED discussion, creepy behavior from a show director/creator (we all know who at this point hopefully), mentions of alcohol abuse

It was one hell of a read. I have so many strong feelings for Jannette. One of the thoughts that kept coming up for me, which is rare for me to think in the first place, is "yeah I'm glad she's dead too." I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that after reading it.

I hope Jannette is in a good place now. Or at least a better place.

Not a big memoir reader, but this was amazing. Listened to the audiobook definetly upped the experience. Good insight into Hollywood and the lives of childhood actors.

I don’t rate autobiographies/memoirs but WOW. Ms. Jennette McCurdy, the woman that you are. I felt all the things. But I’m most captivated by her ability to tell her story (which I’m so glad I got to hear thru the audio) in this lighthearted, humorous tone. It’s quite a feat for such s heavy story. She’s a great storyteller. As a kid who grew up watching iCarly, you kinda feel this guilt and sadness knowing that something you loved so much was causing someone so much misery. It makes me happy that her healing journey is underway. I also wasn’t prepared to relate to it as much as I did… maybe we all need a lil therapy??
