Nice, but not very exciting. Not a lot of suspense. Still good story, which is what kept me reading. The last chapter was great - the kind of action Kinsey excels at. I wish the whole book had been as good!

Not very good. Climatic scenes were ridiculous. Sometimes word choices were jarring; her use of 'pubic nest' will haunt me.

As I continue reading these, I do enjoy them more. Still not among my favorites, but they're quick reads and the twists aren't transparent. I'm warming to Kinsey, but she's still not quite as tough as I like my detectives.

This was a nice cozy mystery to curl up with on a rainy day. It did its job and passed the time.

Parts of this were slow, and once I figured out the killer, I said “Let’s just get there already”. Would have stopped but was committed to see it through. It sped up finally, and then ended abruptly with very little explanation and did not satisfy.

The third in the Kinsey Milhone series. C is for Corpse by Sue Grafton, was a bit more edgy than the first two in the series. Kinsey meets Bobby in physical therapy. Bobby led a charmed life until a near fatal car crash left him physically and mentally scarred. Bobby thinks someone deliberately ran him off the road that night. He also thinks he is still in danger. He hires Kinsey to help him. But, only a few days after Kinsey begins her investigation, Bobby is killed in an accident. Kinsey feels she owes it to Bobby to continue the investigation. Meanwhile, Henry has fallen in love, but his new girlfriend may not be as nice as he thinks she is.
There are some really tense moments, and a real creep factor in the last few chapters. I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of this series plays out.

I liked this one. And finally feel like I am getting a feel for who kinsey is. I thought the mystery was better in this one and overall was pretty good
