To me, one of the better parts of this book is that we start to get to know the other people in Kinsey's life a little more. We get some insight into Rosie and Henry during the "B" story, and that's, to quote Martha Stewart, a Good Thing. It makes Kinsey more vulnerable and human. Her relationship with her client in this case also helps further that end. I believed Kinsey genuinely cared about Bobby and what happened to him, and while I can't say I didn't believe she cared in the first 2 books, this book is where I started to feel it more. Also, great one-liners, which you come to expect from Kinsey and that dry, dry sense of humor of hers.

Just revisiting an old friend.

I was really into this and then it ended. Abruptly. With a lot of unanswered questions. And not a very clear motive. Hmmm, bummer. Hope the next one ends better.

I'm still surprised how much I'm liking these.
I finished this last week but forgot to update here.

This was an interesting take. I'm only on C but this is my fav

These stories are thoroughly far-fetched, but enjoyable nonetheless!

Kinsey Millhone is such an honest, believable character that its hard not to enjoy everything she does. Author Sue Grafton tells a simple, by the books, mystery and its enjoyable as hell. Here, Kinsey takes a case from a likeable guy who thinks he's going to be murdered...and then is. Kinsey is thrust into a world of money and secrets as she tries to solve the crime. Added to that is some extra drama in her home life that makes the book even better. The last chapter was maybe a little goofy but this book holds up extremely well for when it was written. Overall, a delight.

4.5. Another great book in the Kinsey Millhone series.

Thoroughly enjoyed C is for Corpse - great plot, characters and excellent reveal at the end, and I especially liked the secondary plot concerning Henry.

I’m glad I stuck with this series because the main character is becoming less cringeworthy. While I guessed the killer early, I did not guess the reason until near the end. If you like detective mysteries, it’s a fun, but overly taxing read (or listen).
