Great mystery. Good character depth. Kinsey is all kinds of fun. Logical build-up and follow-through.

This was a reread on audio - probably my 4th or 5th? I recalled very little going in, but as the story moved along my vague memories started kicking in (once Franklin and Eleanore were mentioned!) It's a fairly solid mystery that kept me engaged. Was less enamored with the mystery woman who enters into Henry's life, but this is consistent for me. Anytime Kinsey is working on something "close to home" I'm a lot less interested for some reason (T is my least favorite book in the series). This moved quickly and kept me engaged. Solid entry in the series.

Another entertaining private detective story - this one about a man who hires Kinsey Millhone to look into an accident that almost killed him.

My first book in the Sue Grafton Alphabet series and I'm impressed. This isn't the roller coaster of twists and turns kind of novel. This book is one which which keeps adding clues, therefore increases the flavour of the dish. I'm glad that I didn't force myself to complete this book because this is one such book you need to sit back and enjoy. I loved following Kinsey around trying to make sense out of the almost impossible-to-solve case. I was also worried about Kinsey throughout the novel, because we couldn't never know who the murderer was. Also, the sub-plot of Kinsey's landlord Henry was cherry on the cake. It added texture to Kinsey's character and let me know more about her personality. The writing - fun, funny, effective, and, in the last couple of chapters, edge of the seat. I just wished the epilogue would have been a bit more dramatic then I would have given the extra .5 star. But one thing is sure - Kinsey Millhone and I are definitely going to become good friends.

A solid, if unremarkable entry in the series.

I listened to this while I was running. A good entertaining book to run to but not too in depth.

This was definitely the best out of the 3 books. Kinsley meets Bobby at rehab and he hires her to investigate a car accident in which his best friend was killed and he was injuried. 4 days later bobby ends up dead as well. Kinsley still keeps her promise to bobby and investigates the murders and tries to find the black diary that he gave to somebody. With all bobbys family dramas and kinsley trying to save her landlord who is being conned out of his money by a new friend lila who has just moved to town i am surprised this crime got solved.

Sue grafton is getting better with each book. I hope that continues throughout the alphabet.
