I had a feeling it would end like this, It was more satisfying than I expected however. I loved the ending. For once a book with a decent lengthened ending to show you how the characters are after the fact.

Ruby Dixon the woman you are!!!!!! Ugh this book was fantastic. World building is incredible and introduced in a natural way. Characters are amazing, pacing is perfect! I think I might actually like this more than IPB, and I loooooove IPB. I am so happy Ruby is a writer!!!!
*4.5
This book was a great time!! I’m excited to read the other books in this series and hope Ruby Dixon will continue writing fantasy romances like this. Truly a delight to read.
If you’re looking for a slow burn, enemies/friends to lovers, and fantasy, this one’s for you! It’s also more than just spice. Ruby Dixon guides you into the world with such ease, even providing a map in the beginning to guide your reading. Her world building was spectacular.
Just knocking off some points because Faith ends up pregnant in the end (and I hate when that happens) and some repetition in writing that left me saying, “you literally just said that”

I saw someone’s reviewing raving about this book and instantly downloaded it. But it did not really give what it was supposed to give.
I found it quite boring and tedious. Boring because it was progressing too slowly. But I wouldn’t have minded that if it were interesting or entertaining but that wasn’t the case. In the beginning, when heroine gets kidnapped and is in the New World and is getting enslaved by the alien population/ gods, or whatever, she was too chill about it. And she acts like a TV serial heroine. Unserious. And quirky in an annoying way. Funny in an unfunny way. I find these sorts of heroines very… not likeable. They just don’t do it for me.
But besides her, nothing in this book was doing it for me. The whole first half—I had to skim-read it. Nothing was going on. I was finding it very boring. Nothing happened. Then it improved a bit after the first half, for a good 200 pages or so. Tho had to skim-read again.
The only reason I’m not giving it zero stars is because, in one or two instances, I had a little laugh. But other than that, I would have survived without reading this book. So it was a waste of time. Plus, it did not have to be this long.
Side note: I don’t have anything to say about the hero, he was there imo. I couldn’t care less about him. Also, romance very insta lust and is reliant on physical connection only. There’s 0 angst and 0 chemistry between them- it’s supposedly a forbidden romance between a mortal and a god. 💀
Ending: hfn. She’s an immortal now and is living with the hero. And she’s pregnant. They’re going to have a baby. But that’s it for insight.
