I wasn't mentally prepared for this to be such a slow-burn, glacial pace book, especially after reading so many other Ruby Dixon books. It grew on me in the end, and I enjoyed the mythology building, but this was not my favorite. I'll try one more in the series before I give up on it though.

I was a little wary going into this book because it seems cringey and like the romances my mom reads, but ya know what, I enjoyed it. The FMC is relatable and has the same sort of humorous thought process that makes her seem normal without being cringey. At the same time, she has the mindset that I love: “well, this sucks, but there’s no going back now so I guess we role with it.”
The only thing I’m a little sad about is that I wish we got to see more of the other Aspects. We don’t get much on-page time of interactions with the other Aspects, but a lot of, what I consider to be, the honeymoon phase and time jumps. I get why we maybe didn’t get a lot with Hedonism (too much spice??) but even Apathy and Lies seemed sort of glossed over.
I am so, so ready for Yulenna’s story, but might be able to tide myself over with Rhagos’s story.

This book was ass. The main character was so annoying and I did not find her sense of humor entertaining. The plot was long and a shitty fantasy. The smut was ok but not enough to make up for how long the book was, how bad the dialogue was, and how boring it all was. Would not read or recommend to anyone.

I really had high hopes for this. It seemed perfect on paper-- Lots of dialogue, plot's interesting enough, promise of spice later in the book--but holy s***t I'm at 40% and there is no plot progression. I can't bring myself to continue.
