“Music makes everything more romantic, doesn't it? One second you're walking your dog in the suburbs, and then you put on Adele, and it's like you're in a movie and you've just had your heart brutally broken.”
― Jenny Han, Always and Forever, Lara Jean

I was so excited to read the book the moment I finished the second one. I loved the first and second book, so I have high hopes for this one. I'd say that it is an easy read and I am fairly satisfied with the story line. What's refreshing about the book is that, it's real life. It is a work of fiction but covers a slice of life. As much as I loved the book, I still felt that something is lacking. As if there's something missing, there must be something more to it than what I have just read. Maybe Jenny Han will have another part added to it when she feels like it? Maybe that's not really the ending of the story? Don't get me wrong, I know and loved some stories that leave you hanging; but this one is just different. Still loved it though. <3

I think I need a moment to gather my thoughts. It was, for sure, the perfect ending to Lara Jean's story. Filled with the melancholy of leaving things and people behind, perfectly grasping the idea of going away for college, leaving everything you've known. Filled with a genuine, adorable love with its own struggles, sisters, family ties and everything else I love in a contemporary. A really good book <3

It was a great book to end the trilogy, but i'm kind of upset I don't get a concrete answer on happened with Lara Jean and Peter. I feel like I need more books!
I didn't love this book, but it wasn't terrible. I think it really encompasses teenage dilemmas whilst facing their final year in high school & also focuses on developing important relationships in life.
I really liked how Lara Jean didn't choose the college she was comfortable with, but the one that she really could see a future in. It showcased her independence and desire to do what was best for her and not her boyfriend.
Peter was definitely more likeable in this book and really tried to show his love for Lara Jean, it felt natural and real.
I loved Trina and felt she was such an important character in being a role model to the girls. I loved how supportive she was & how she never tried to force herself into their lives.

I didn't want to finish off the year without finishing this series....and I admit that in the break between book 2 and book 3, I forgot how annoying the author (or main character!??) truly is.
This is Lara Jean's senior year--- her older sister is still in Scotland, her younger sister is still spoiled and opinionated....and LJ is still dating Peter (the most dreamiest of dreamy boys). LJ still spends way too much time reflecting on every detail of her outfits and baking in the kitchen--- her sisters still dictate every inch of the Song Covey house...and everything is just too perfect.
Changes? Her dad is (gasp) engaged....and LJ's life is falling apart because her college plans are not going as she planned out. I found this book....hard to get through because the majority of the details were superfluous. I apparently am heartless. I did stick with it to see how it would end because I do enjoy Peter....even if the Song sisters are spoiled unrealistic teenagers.
This book was really weird for me because LJ REALLY wanted to get into my alma mater, UVA--- and so the first couple of chapters are full of facts and gushing about a school I hold close....and then she moves on to giving piles of details about W&M....my best friend's school. BOTH phenomenal schools....I also found it weird that (spoiler) she didn't get into UVA....but got into UNC. And....well, as much as the author tried to sound like she knew VA schools....there were things that screamed she didn't (W&M's Cheese Shop exists at UVA--- Take it Away for one....). I had a hard time swallowing her disappointment/flippancy about W&M because if you're a Virginian....you are impressed and don't see it as a backup school. Also....she is obviously a rich kid....no one turns down VA school like W&M to go to UNC out of state. Must be nice.... anyhow! I digress.
The book is definitely a YA and I am sure most of my students would enjoy it. I just found it a bit too much....but I have a heart of ice.
Read if you need to know how the trilogy ends....though I am sure you can figure it out on your own.
