Re-reading this as an adult just made me appreciate how Rowling's writing is simplistic but not too kiddish unlike so many YA books out there. This is really a book for all ages.

But this book is really just world building and it shows because the pace accelerates towards the end with the fight with Quirrel only lasting 2-3 chapters

Amazingly easy to read.
I have watched the films so many times, so reading the book was so much easier and entertaining, as I was able to fill the gaps with what the characters were thinking, how they felt, the scenery described even better, and so on. It creates additional depth for the characters and I loved it.
Obviously, it might seem that I'm biased, as I knew what I was getting into, but the story is good and is well written.
Wish I would've read it way sooner.

Missed the trend train 15 years too late and I'm no longer their target audience so... there goes...
