Wasn't sure what to expect here - but I was drawn in quickly. Atwood gave her mother-daughter duo a surprising amount of depth in relatively few pages and I loved how the story spanned time but still managed to feel intimate and small. We only hear from four characters, I believe. The last chapter was my fave part and is what pushed this one to 4 stars for me.

So fun and thoughtful. As a mom and daughter, I can totally relate. Great characters!

Expected something vastly different, but still started out really really good and promising but it's been a few days and i can't even remember the ending.

I wish this wasn’t a short story! Witty, funny, still deep and meaningful

Pointing, turning your drunken husband into a garden gnome, and stealing penises. Need I say more?
