This was the ' BOTM ' in a book club I'm in

Initially i would have given the book a rating of 3.6/5 but after a member convinced me that "if they made the right choices we wouldn't have the book

This is such a rich collection of stories. Besides that, the storytelling was superb. The point of view is such a surprise to me because I haven't read anything like that before but it was a pleasant surprise because it added to the overall experience. Instead of being an outsider looking in, because of the pov, it's like I'm actually part of the stories. Lagos is such a faraway place to me and yet it seems I have found love with their literature. This isn't my first book from or based on Lagos and I think it will not be the last. It seems to me that Lagos and Filipino men are quite alike lol. Men are trash wherever they are in the world is the conclusion I came to. I'm really looking forward to more women-centric books like this.

Actually 3.5

Was a light fun read with mostly relatable, and funny stories told like hot gist between girlfriends.

International Relations, Cuck Up and Catfished are my favorites.

Sometimes the use of the second person voice was a little distracting and not very appropriate to the story, but otherwise, a good read.
