Super easy to figure out. Ok, creepy but not great.

This felt a little obvious, with a naive and gullible narrator, but it didn't push the envelope beyond what was believable, in my opinion. This was both a cult indoctrination story and an abuse story, and I thought it was really well done

SPOILER WARNING

I got this book off the new release shelf at the library. I liked the cover a lot.

This was not a book for me. I guess I don’t understand it. The back cover spoils the fact that the creepy hot rich man Julia meets at a park in chapter 1 will not be her Prince Charming. Yet the book takes 300 pages to convince us and her of that. This story infuriated me. She is SO STUPID. Her boyfriend Bryce has about one million red flags and she ignores every single one of them despite the fact the writer wants her to be a woke woman. Everything about this book is creepy and stupid and it has no pay off.

It is literally one page of aftermath to what the back cover tells us she is trying to escape from. The whole book reads like a story your read online and wonder why the poster was so naive. This book was terrible.

I loved this book from start to finish. It shows how easy it is to miss red flags in a relationship until it’s too late. Did I scream at this book the whole time? Yes. Would I read it again? Absolutely. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book will certainly make you more thankful for being with a good person/spouse. It was my first book by Rena Olsen but I look forward to reading more by her.
It was well written, great characters and had a good flow to it.

I’m confused as to why this book was rated to low. I’m not a huge fan of psychological thrillers and this one had me. Maybe it was the mini love story or the creeper church vibes, but everyone in this was so creepy you just never seemed to know who was the creepy one.  Who was the person with the hidden past?  I will say that it did seem like the ending was rushed.  I could have read another 100 pages or so.

A man infiltrates a woman’s life and slowly turns her away from all of her family and friends until her entire life is that of The Church. Her husband is an attorney and solely works for the church, they socialize only with church patrons and never see her family.  The husband tracks her car and cell phone and has people watching her when she is out and about. Torn by her love for her husband and for her family, she turns to the lord…
