3.5 stars - This rom-com is definitely a bit “kooky” as the author herself called it. I enjoyed myself but definitely picked up on a bit of goofiness. Nothing too deep is explored, so My Roommate Is a Vampire is more lighthearted and something you read when you’re looking for a bit of fun. The plot is very low stacks and reminds me of some cozy fantasy books.

I think one of my favorite aspects of this book is how easily Cassie accepts Frederick’s vampirism.

The characters are relatively well developed, and there’s lots of humor through the notes Cassie and Frederick leave for each other and the text messages between Frederick and his vampire friend Reginald.

My Roommate Is a Vampire is such a quick read and will leave a smile on your face.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't fly through this in 2 days as I expected I would.

The story is about a 300 year old vampire who lists his spare room in order to attract a Roommate he can study to help him adjust to the modern world.

I didnt like the vampire too much. Nothing wrong with him- he just didn't possess the qualities I find attractive in a fictional crush so the parts designed to make readers swoon or feel some sort of affinity to him didn't work on me.

Also, it was way too easy. It was OK but I wouldn't recommend.

Cheesy, campy and a bit forced. But still entertaining enough to finish it.

I read this book very quickly. I liked the characters and the beginning a lot. The story then just had the issue a lot of romance books have for me, which is once the characters have shown they are interested, they seem like different people. The ending also felt very quick and a bit rushed compared to the pacing of the rest of the book.

4.5/5 - I loved this book! It was super easy to read and Frederick is swoon worthy. I wish the epilogue was the last chapter as I would have liked to see more time as them as a couple. And on that note I wish the epilogue was Cassie’s decision.

Kind of a cute read but nothing really happened. Mentioned Tik Tok, Instagram, Taylor swift and things like that that I don’t like in books. Couldn’t get into the love story because it was based only on attraction really. Seems more like a book a pre-teen would enjoy.
