I knew it was coming but man...

While I liked the majority of this book, the ending shocked me completely. I thought it came out of left field and kind of ruined the entire book for me. That's why I took a whole star off my review.
OMG!
This book has left me distraught with the major twiat at the end. In this novel Ms. Slaughter tells the life of Lena Adams, of what really happened to Sybil when she was a child and what happened to her mother. When she gets a call saying that her uncle Hank is not well Lena goes back to the small town where she grew up, unaware that she is walking into a mess that will lead her into endangering the lives of Jeff and Sara...
Jeff and Sara go to Reece to help Lena and in doing so Jeff visits Ethan who is rotting in prison after Lena put him there however Ethan has friends and is no doubt the person in charge and is responsible for the bomb placed in Jeff and sara's mailbox which kills Jeff moments after they found out that they were to adopt a 9 month old baby boy.
Ms Slaughter's writing in this book is eloquent and keeps the reader enthralled as well as conveying the love between Jeff and Sara as he dies in her arms.
This book is the last in the Grant Count series and what a series it has been, and what it could have been if Ms Slaughter had not killed Jeff and continued the series. However i look forward to reading the rest of her books where Sara Linton works with Will Trent.
A must read for all even if they do not like crime this series will change your perspective.

Difficult to follow sometimes when switching from present to Lena’s life.

I have to start by saying that this book and series's ending was spoil for me, so I wasn't super hype to finish it.
I also think that's why it wasn't one of my favourites, and why it's the lowest rating I ever gave a Slaughter book.
Well that and the fact that I'm not a fan of Lena, never liked her, never will.
But I really, really want to continue with the Will Trent series, so I finished this one.
It wasn't bad, but with the ending spoiled and the Lena saga it wasn't a top book for me.
