Oh how I worship K’s books! I read through them quickly and I’m always impressed with the quality of writing and such deliciously intricate and always edge of my seat twisting and turning until the end. This one, however, was no such book. For me it was a constant “what’s happening?” But not in an engaging way... and once it started to pick up I was finding myself so irritated by Lena’s behavior that I felt it a chore to read...

As always another excellent book by Karin Slaughter. This was the last in the Grant County series. Who in their right mind would end it this way???? Gut wrenching to say the least. I enjoyed this whole series , too bad it had to end.
Lena's character has been sort of irritating me the last couple of books. Less so in this one. I really thought I was going to rate this officially last one in the series with 3 stars, but the ending saved it for me and bumped it up to 4 stars.
However, the narrator changed for this last one. While sometimes it's just a matter of change mid-series that can be off-putting, this was more than just that. I did not care for the drastic change in the 3 main character's voices. It changed their personalities as well. I just did not care for the inflections in the narrator's voice. Overall the audio quality was poor, which didn't help matters much.
