Forgot how much I like Karin Slaughter's Grant County series.

Why I keep reading this book over and over when I know it will utterly destroy me is beyond me! If this is your first time reading the series, don’t give up. Keep going onto the Will Trent series, just don’t read any spoilers or synopsis of those until after book 3. You can thank me later.

I have become a big Karin Slaughter fan, and you will too if you enjoy fast-paced dark, make that very dark, thrillers with fantastic character development that builds with each book and series. When I get a Slaughter hold on Libby, everything else goes to the wayside.
Really good compared to the 3 and 4! I was absolutely shocked by the ending and need to know what happens now!
Well done. The foreboding written let me know what would happen at the end. And I was rooting for Ethan even though he was so violent. Thinking he just needed some counseling. I just felt like Lena corrupted him. LOL Until the end.
Karin Slaughter is a masterful writer. I can never put her books down. Even when I should.

My advice would be don't read any reviews for this book if you don't want to basically get spoiled.
One of the main reasons I started reading the Grant County Series was because I wanted to get to the rest of the Will Trent Series. Although some of the books in this series were better, some were just okay. This one was less than okay. There wasn't much happening. Lena was her usual cocky self. Sometimes I feel bad for her, but at other times she can be utterly frustrating. Jeffery as usual, keeps giving her innumerable chances, believing in her despite the grief she has given him. And Sara, as usual is stuck between her hatred for Lena's attitude, her understanding of Lena's situation and Jeffery's unsurmountable support for his young detective.
I also would have liked a better outcome for Sara's medical malpractice suite.
Anyway, gonna continue with the rest of the Will Trent Series now. I,m psyched!
Spoiler
The ending was brutal, but it was rushed. I would have liked to read about what happened next, about the funeral and the reactions of different characters, particularly Lena. Since this is the last book in the Grant County series, I expect there might be some mention of more information on Life after Jeffery in the Will Trent Series. *fingers crossed*I also would have liked a better outcome for Sara's medical malpractice suite.

This book held me captive. The ending made me mad, however, I think it was perfect.
