I appreciate the message this book wanted to convey, exploring familial, romantic, and platonic relationships for a struggling 20 something. I found most of it to be a little far fetched and unbelievable. Maybe I don’t believe in love but really getting married in Vegas to someone random and then it actually working? I get Grace was going through it but man did she run away from her problems all the time. Some of the writing at times seemed shallow and I would have liked to have seen some more evolved conversations between the characters. But it was a sweet book and I am glad ms girl is in therapy now and wanting to better herself at last. Appreciated all of the inclusivity and diversity in this.

This book was an okay-read. I do really like the plot idea but in writing it wasn't as exciting as I thought it was going to be. I wish the Vegas aspect of the story could've gotten explored more. The writing in this book wasn't terrible but there were many moments where it felt like Rogers was trying to be a bit too poetic with how she was explaining things; especially when the love interest is talking. Everything was too obvious, there wasn't a lot of subtlety with how characters spoke or acted. I read a handful of reviews before I read this book, so that might have had an influence in how I perceived this book overall. However, this book was still somewhat enjoyable to read.

questo libro mi ha fatta piangere più del previsto ed è per certi aspetti davvero troppo relatable non volevo essere esposta in questo modo

3.5

Overall I really enjoyed the story. The audiobook really hurt my experience though. The pacing was off and I couldn't find a speed at which the narrators pacing made sense(I normally listen to books at 1.25/1.3, tried slowing it down and speeding it up and nothing worked). Also the tone at which she was reading reminded me of an ASMR video. Everything was said in sort of a calming low tone and there wasn't much variation for the characters expressing different emotions. Scenes where characters are arguing with each other sound the same as when a character is walking down a hallway. Other than my issues with the audiobook I would've rated it 4, I did enjoy the story as a whole. I would recommend either reading the physical or e-book as the audiobook took away some enjoyment for me personally.
