This was a totally cute read!! I wish we had dug into more about what made her friendships so special and also i think it could have had more structural commentary but i enjoyed it. I wanted to kiss Yuki too.
Graphic: Self harm
Let me start with my original review from 2021: "brb gonna go to vegas and drunk marry a cute girl" which perfectly encapsulates how I felt after reading this book for the first time. Now, upon rereading it I think I fell in love with it even more, it's such a sweet love story, both between Grace and Yuki and Grace and herself. Some parts of this book hit really hard, like Grace not knowing what to do with her life and always pushing herself to her breaking point to try and earn her father's validation or Grace flying away to try and make sense of her feelings. I love Ximena and Agnes so much and the relationship they have with Grace, I love Meera and Raj, my sweet family. I hold this book so close to my heart and I'm so glad I reread it this year.

i think as a i-graduated-and-now-i-have-no-purpose-what-do-i-do story it gets the job done i enjoyed it
ive been struggling with what my issue is with the romance in this book and i think its just because i prefer slow burn. i think the love interest is also just kind of boring

5/5 stars
A new favorite — and add another book to the list of books I shouldn’t have put off as long.
Let me start off with the thing I loved the most — the discussions about burnout and mental health. This was a book I needed to feel any feelings I had about my own personal struggles with burnout and mental health. Definitely had things I needed to hear and accept myself.
The other thing I loved — which is the main portion of this book — was the love story. I loved this soft story of two strangers coming into each other’s lives through pure happenstance but then absolutely falling for one another.
The friendships in this book was the other thing I adored. I loved how them loved each other so much, and supported one another no matter what the circumstance was or what random decision the other made. It was beautiful and I loved every moment of it.
Definitely an author I’m keeping my eye out for and I can’t wait for the other stories they have in store!

This book was everything I didn't know I needed to hear.
11/10 read.
