This wasn’t it. The problems felt very silly and the character’s choices deeply unrelatable. The character work was so bad, as in all the side characters had the same voice and could be interchanged for the same effect. The fact that Grace

disappeared off the face of the planet for 2 months without telling anyone and then logged back into the world and NO ONE thought that was selfish or called her out on being a shit friend?? Fuck off with that

I simply could not be empathetic to an adult woman who, at the end of a two month vacation with zero responsibility where she’s been living off her “wife”’s (read: a stranger) goodwill and generosity, complaining about being broke despite on page having money gifted to her by her parents, she is still stuck on the fact thot she’s been SO busy and gotten NO breaks. Babe! What do you call what you are doing right now! Capitalism is a prison and we’re all living in it! You are in RARE AIR that you can check out for a large chunk of time.

The writing itself was good if flowery, but ultimately didn’t matter because the story and characters were so annoying.

I wish I could say I liked this but the romance part of this story felt so unnecessary to the major plot of Grace becoming okay with who she is. It just didn’t serve the story well and was honestly very frustrating?
