this book really stressed me out. like the main character was just so stupid and unaware of her surroundings all the time.

i was not expecting the double plot twist and tbh i didn’t really like it. but i guess its okay because i support women’s rights and wrongs!

but moral of the story basically is that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. sure the step-daughter may have been the overall killer or whatever (she’s just a girl guys), but her dad was still just as awful (glad he died in the end) - both of them were just bad people

book gets bonus points (+ 0.25) for the dog being a hero and saving the fmc!

overall i did enjoy this book and it kept me entertained, but it’s just not very memorable for me.

this had a very promising start! the premise was so interesting & i was excited to dive into a new thriller i had heard so much about on booktok! however, this was not very good.

it probably didn’t help that i didn’t really like the audiobook narrator, maybe i would have enjoyed it more if i read it physically! it starts with a new mom in her new home with her new husband, and she’s super bored. she thought this was the life she had always wanted, but was itching for something to do. she had no idea her life was about to turn upside down with the introduction of her husband’s daughter from a previous marriage. in front of her father she’s the perfect angel, but it seems that there may be something sinister happening behind the scenes.

look, the double plot twist just didn’t do it for me. i hated it in fact. i didn’t really care about the characters by the time i finished the book, but i still hate the way it ended.
