my only complaint about this book is the writing style. it was basically the main characters inner monologue.

I liked the concept of this book, but found it predictable and a little too sappy for me, with an unlikeable FMC. YMMV

I would rate this a 3.5. The book started a little slow for me when it’s set in Paris setting the story up. Once it gets to her going to San Juan Island I enjoyed it much more. There was something magical and beautiful about the island and life there. I enjoyed her slowly rebuilding her relationship with her mom. She meets a mysterious handsome man who is a friend of her mom’s (but is her age). He seems to not like her from the start and she’s not sure why. Eventually the book is narrated from not only Georgia’s perspective but also Cole’s which I really enjoyed. This is a grumpy sunshine trope and has some magical realism to it. I also enjoyed that it showed Georgia’s self discovery journey as well. I loved the four leaf clover/charmed life aspect as well- I too have a four leaf clover tattoo! I liked the secrets that slowly were revealed. I wanted more from the romance story. I haven’t read the Magic of Lemon Drop Pie but now it’s definitely on my list!

The main characters had a good story line and chemistry, but I felt like the writing was a little clunky and the emotional scenes between family members were sometimes a bit forced. Lots of food references. I did like the sense of place for the Pacific Northwest, which I just visited a couple weeks ago.

It’s Ratatouille meets Julie and Julia. A cute storyline, somewhat predictable.
Dreamy locations though, Paris and a romantic island. A quick and easy read!

There was a lot going on in this book. These characters have quite the backstories.

Wow, just wow. Grabbed this on a whim after looking up "PNW Romance Novels" since I was getting tired of Georgia and the Carolinas, and I was absolutely blown away. It started as a nice look at burnout in the culinary world, but the places Rachel went in this book were worth every word. Can't recommend this one enough
Spoiler I came into this looking for a nice romance that hit close to my restaurant family home, but arrived to an inspiring story of grief and forgiveness. And an important lesson on how the things we do and say to those we love can stay with and hold them down (or lift them up) for years. If nothing else, this book left me a profound reinforcement of my belief that the truth is always the right answer
