Hot, so hot! This story is steamy, sexy and just hot. Gwen and JC story a few years later, so better read the duet before this one. How their marriage is needing something to spark it up, the Open Door club gets them that spark. The kinky scenes are perfect. I enjoyed this novella so much.

How do I get an invite? I want in. Jeepers it’s sexy! All manner of kink provided for.

Gwen and JC still adore each other. They’re just tired. Three kids does that to you. When an invite to an Open Door party comes their way, they debate it, decide on boundaries and then hop on. What a hot sexy adventure.

Seriously, I need an invite. I think my bestie T might be able to help.

It’s oh so delicious. I loved riding the merry go round with them and seeing some familiar faces.

Made me want to have a do-over with JC.

Whew! What a hot short read! I have always loved Gwen and JC. I remember in Fixed Forever when Gwen was talking to Alayna about The Open Door and I really was curious about what was going to happen with that! And now I know! I was so into it! I loved how their story navigated though such a touchy matter. The insecurities that Gwen suffers from are completely identifiable. And the way that she wants to please her man is so admirable... wanting to push her boundaries but still being comfortable with it all is the fine line to worry about. I loved this story. I loved catching up with Gwen and JC. And I loved watching them go through this together! So much love for them! Great story!

Holy F*ucking HOTNESS!!!

So I started rereading the duet, but this came to me in the middle of book one. I have always loved Justin Caleb. Even when he was a bit of an idiot in book two. And I was looking forward to to this book for so long. I can understand the price to keep that romance alive and having so many little ones you feel your just existing. I literally fell off the couch I was reading on when Jake said "mommy's making weird noises"

A New Spice!

The Open Door was a super steamy, mildly kinky story about these two trying to add some spice into what they think is a marriage lacking. But, upon this new journey they rediscover things about themselves and their relationship.
JC and Gwen are one of my favorite couples by Laurelin Paige! I will honestly read anything she writes about them so I’d love to have more of them in the future!

The Open Door is a perfect example of a 1001 Dark Nights book--it absolutely stands on its own, but it also offers a little extra to those who have read other books in the series or even just by [a:Laurelin Paige|7056140|Laurelin Paige|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1564522972p2/7056140.jpg] (Trish and Nate from [b:Dirty Filthy Fix|33510961|Dirty Filthy Fix (Fixed #5.5; 1001 Dark Nights #72)|Laurelin Paige|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1482169534l/33510961._SY75_.jpg|54271131] make an appearance; woot!) If you haven't read other books in The Found Duet, no worries--this is a self-contained story about a couple trying to reaffirm their commitment to each other through exploration--but there's teasers galore about the stories before (what do you mean he ghosted her before their wedding?)

The Open Door gives us a glimpse into the lives of Gwen and JC as a couple--the less-than-glamorous (but incredibly endearing) life they share with their three boys and their private lives in the bedroom (and the car, the playroom, and the Open Door...) Once again I'm amazed that a 1001 Dark Nights story managed to pack so much story into such a compact space: this isn't just a steamy erotic romance, it's also a very sweet story about a couple learning how to communicate their wants and needs to each other more effectively to strengthen their bond.

Plus, it's really, really hot. Let's not lose track of that. ;)

Married life can be hot, just ask JC and Gwen. Well, if you can catch them between all those mundane, life things that make life boring and, well, less than hot.

So, what is a couple to do? Well, if you are Gwen and JC (or if you find yourself in a story written by Laurelin Paige) you find ways to keep things hot and interesting.

In their case, it's an invitation to an exclusive, erotic club.

There's lots of hot sex, and some really fun, kinky sex...and, there's a great look at the relationship between them as it grows and changes over time.

I think that is what I loved the most about this...it's a glimpse into married life, it's a look at the ways a relationship changes, and the ways in which marriage and long-term commitment changes the people in the relationship. But, it also takes a really hot look at what commitment and trust can add to a relationship.

I can't lie, at the end of this novella, I wanted more. I wanted to see what happens next, and I wanted more of Gwen and JC.

This is a standalone. I actually did re-read the books in the Found Duet, but it wasn't necessary for you to enjoy this story...although, it was a lot of fun to re-read the books, so either way, you win.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

** I do want to start out by saying that there is a trigger warning. There is a scene in this book where at one of the parties there is rape roleplay. It is very intense and even I wasn’t expecting it. Please proceed with caution if this is something that will trigger you. I just wanted everyone to be aware so that you are not taken by surprise. **

I could very much relate to Gwen and JC. They were married for a few years and had three boys under the age of six. Things in there house are absolutely crazy and there’s not time for anything other than kids. I have twins and the chaos never stops. There are times where kids were sick or puking in the middle of trying to have an adult time is completely relatable. That is why I knew that this book was for me.

One of the things I found sexy about this couple was their communication. There was never a time where they didn’t talk through things and work on their marriage. It was very realistic and made for less drama and more steamy sexy scenes. Some of the best romance is the kind you can relate to as a married woman and shows healthy relationships. Not all relationships are angst and trauma. It’s important to show that there are all kinds of romance in the world.

I definitely think that this is a perfect read for any woman who feels like she is in a bit of a slump. This is some romance at it’s finest.
