I'm fairly new to Sandersons work, having only read the mistborn series and elantris prior. However, I am once again a fan of the world building, and even though the ending felt like it was a tad rushed, it still caught me off guard. I can't wait to read his other books

very solid standalone from brandon (in the same universe as mistborn and stormlight but can definitely be read alone) although for me it was a bit of a slow start but god SUUUUCH a strong finish, lightsong is my goat i love that dude and
susebron
and siri are so so so so cute i loved every scene where they were
writing to each other.
vivenna had such good character growth and i loved her and
vasher
as a duo :) nightblood best character he’s so venom coded

Didn't know what to think at first, but I was thoroughly hooked a third of the way in. While some characters were more fully explored than others, none ever felt two-dimensional. Lightsong, in particular, was a blessing from the maybe-gods, and I found myself giggling aloud to quick-tongued absurdities. What a lovely character. The only part that fell a little flat for me was the political intrigue; perhaps I've been spoiled by Game of Thrones, but everything felt just a little too "nice" and a little too "at the right time."

If there's one thing I've learned to expect from politics, both in life and in literature, it's that chaos truly is a ladder--and *many people* like to try and climb it.

If an author pumps out 10s all day then if they write an 8 it’s gonna seem like a 4. That’s the situation with this book. Very slow starter, but got quite a bit better in the last third. Overall I enjoyed it. Brandon does get a bit carried away describing blushweaver’s boobs. Also the god names are corny and it kinda took me out of it. Finally, I’m not sure why Brandon needs to give at least one character a super unserious nickname in all of his books but if that makes him happy then I’m happy for him.

Yet another book with an incredible magic system and incredible world building by Sanderson! Perhaps a little slow through the first half but overall the story moved along and I was invested in what all the main characters were up to.

I have already read Mistborn Era 1 and Elantris on my Cosmere journey and this (Warbreaker) was my fav Hoid cameo so far!
