I loved so much about this book. I loved the Native perspective and use of language, imagery, ways of knowing, respect for elders... All of it. It was wonderful to listen to with a truly masterful young voice. 
In general, I do not love action/adventure stories where one implausible exciting thing piles on top of the next. Drugs! Murder! Violence!  Running wildly through the woods! Etc! I just find it unrealistic enough that I lose the plot. No one's life is like that. 
But the parts I liked outweigh the implausible parts, so, yeah, a good rating!

This was a refreshing and informative read about contemporary a Native American who investigates crimes in her community. Really enjoyed reading it, however I was more interested in the Native believes and rituals than in the crime most of the time. Still a great read and I am definitely keeping an eye on Angeline for her next book!

I read it in Spanish and sometimes the translation was kind of a failure or letters were missing in a word. But it really makes me want to read it in English all over again! Great book, really interesting and original, and Daunis is AMAZING. One of my favorites main characters ever!
