Stella is a beagle who was trained for explosive alerts, working alongside her handler at an airport until the day of a traumatic, devastating explosion. Separated from her person and traumatized from her work, Stella is struggling to fit in and cope with the loss of everything she loved. She is given one final chance to attempt to be trained and rehabilitated, forming a strong bond with her trainer's daughter. Through that bond Stella finds new purpose as a seizure alert dog, and her world opens up in beautiful ways. As a service dog handler with a pup who has some of his own trauma, this was an emotional read with a lovely perspective.

I read this because my 10 yo lived it and wanted me to read it. Adorable book about the love and devotion of dogs. Such a cute read, great for a 3-5th grader.❤️
Read with my kiddos at night. We loved it. Book 1/5 for the MCBA.

I LOVED this middle grade chapter book so much! As a dog lover I knew I would enjoy this book but it really made me think about the thoughts that go through my own dogs head each day. I laughed and cried reading this book and can’t recommend it enough
