It was just okay for me. It bit on the corny side with how things worked out. Too much over the top coincidences.
For such heavy subject matters the characters were too juvenile for my liking.
I appreciate many of the lines in the book. Of course I was thrilled to read their happy ending. I also liked the fact that they continued this book with Connor’s story (from the first book in the series)

Auch der zweite Band der Compass-Reihe hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Brittainy C. Cherry ist ja dafür bekannt, dass sie sehr emotionale Bücher schreibt. Auch in diesem Buch ging es um ein schwieriges Thema, diesmal habe ich aber nicht so gelitten, wie bei den anderen Büchern, was ich aber in keiner Weise bemängeln möchte.
Aaliyah habe ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen. Sie ist eine sehr starke Protagonistin und Connor war wie für sie gemacht. bereits im ersten Band der Reihe (die man unabhängig voneinander lesen kann) haben wir Connor kennengelernt und ich habe ihn geliebt. Er versprüht pure Lebenslust und hat ein großes Herz, mit dem er sich hochgearbeitet hat.
Besonders der Einstieg in die Geschichte konnte mich überzeugen. Ich liebe es, wenn sich Charaktere kennenlernen und dann durch unerwartete Ereignisse in der Zukunft wieder in das Leben des anderen stolpern. Gegen den bittersten Sturm ist eine ruhige Geschichte, die aber immer wieder durch einen Plottwist eine andere Wendung gebracht hat.
Jason habe ich ab dem ersten Zeitpunkt gehasst. Und ich habe auch seine Familie gehasst. Egal, was sie für Aaliyah getan haben, ich habe sie so sehr gehasst. Jason war einfach nur verletzend und ekelhaft.
Ein genaues Gegenteil war dafür Damian. Ich habe ihn fast noch mehr als Connor geliebt und bin umso glücklicher, dass es im dritten Band um ihn geht. Er ist in sich gekehrt und bringt selten ein Lächeln hervor, aber er setzt sich für die, die er liebt ein und macht das dann von ganzem Herzen.

Si con el primer libro de la serie llore, con este llore el triple.
Que libro tan más bonito y tan más divertido.
Connor es una cosa bellísima, que a pesar de que sea un multimillonario no deje su esencia sencilla y de que siga apoyando a los que menos tienen. Fue un personaje muy memorable en el primer libro pero en su libro fue muchísimo mejor ♡. Esas escenas donde ayudaba a que Aaliyah volviera a empoderarse y a amarse a sí misma era lo más hermoso y no podía dejar de llorar.
Aaliyah, mi niña preciosa, me sentía tan identificada con sus desamores y con su falta de amor propio que era como si Connor también me coacheara a mi también de que debía de amarme a mi misma.
Lloraba por su padecimiento y me rompía el corazón porque mi niña no podía ser feliz.
Ellos dos y Damian fueron los únicos personajes memorables.
Personajes que odio y están en mi lista negra:
1. Jason: te odio y ojalá se te caiga el nepe por maldito asqueroso por jugar así con mi niña.
2. Marie: esa señora nunca me dio buenas vibes, y con razón, me parecía muy insistente y la odio con todo mi ser por lastimar tanto a Aaliyah.
3. Walter: por querer ser un perro y robarle a mi niño todo su trabajo, asqueroso.
Los plot twist que a lo largo del libro surgían me tenían con el Jesús en la boca, yo tenía miedo que este libro no terminara bien y que fuera un problema para mi salud mental pero bendito Dios terminó con un hermoso final.
Mis escenas favoritas sin duda fueron:
•La noche de Halloween.
•La sesión de fotos de ambos.
•Cuando Connor le tapiza de post its con deseos en su habitación en el hospital.
•Cuando Aaliyah perdona a Connor y le muestra los deseos.
•La propuesta de matrimonio.
•La boda, fue preciosa y con el cameo de Jax y Kennedy fue hermoso♡.
Connor es todo lo que se puede desear en un hombre, lo ame pero cuando abandono a Aaliyah después de saber de su enfermedad para mi fue como su hubiera recibido una puñalada por la espalda porque ya sabía el miedo a que las personas la abandonaran,

My emotions can't take this! It is so heartbreakingly beautiful and absolutely a stunning book that will be in my favorites this year. I loved this story so much. It has still left me reeling days after reading and I have a huge book hangover. I loved these characters so much and Brittainy definitely has a way of getting you invested in their story and their lives. I loved every bit of their journey and I could not put this book down. I can't wait for more from Brittainy and from this series.

There is just something heartfelt about the way this author writes. I enjoyed this book because it felt like a common everyday love story for the most part. These characters were authentic and I loved that. The author made me tear up at a certain part but that is to be expected because her writing is genuine.
I didn't understand the Walter situation or how it even needed to be a part of this story, especially, in light of what his motives were.. It just didn't sit right for the rest of the story, and didn't enhance it, in my opinion. However the twist with another character was very good.

Ich fand den ersten Teil besser. In dem Buch hier war mir zu viel los und ein bisschen zu viel Drama, ich habe das ruhige aus dem ersten Teil vermisst. :( Trotzdem ein gutes Buch!

Conner and Aaliyah’s story was beautiful. The first section of the book when they meet is so heartwarming, running around NYC on Halloween and forming such a bond in a short period of time. The ups and downs (and the surprises) make for such a great story.
Very, very sweet romance. I do wish there was more sex in this and more descriptive during those parts.
