another 1 day read for me. fun twist on a hockey book.
Moderate: Cancer, Domestic abuse, Death of parent
Who doesn't love a hockey hottie!?!
A Cajun drawling, French speaking hockey hottie.
A ridiculously sexy, singularly focused on you Cajun drawling, French speaking hockey hottie...
Did you explode in a pile of goo yet? If not don't worry, Remy has all sorts of French sayings to woo you. Let's not forget his cooking, his kindness, and his really, really big...heart. (smirks- that too)
I had to read Irresistible You because I just grabbed a copy of So Over You. Binge reading at its best because the Rebels have their own United Nations going and i can't turn down anyone with an accent!

This was a fun hockey romance, my favorite of sports. It starts off with Remy being kind of a jerk, but he grew on me. He's ready to retire, and he gets traded as a last ditch attempt for Harper to save her team. Harper and her sisters were left the Rebels when their father died. When Harper meets Remy, she's kind of knocked over by his testosterone. But she has a good head for the business of running the team. There are some great interactions between Harper and her sisters. For hockey fans, you'll be excited to have a new team to root for. I chose to review this book via Netgalley.

The first in Kate Meader's Chicago Rebels ice-hockey series starts with a bang when Harper Chase is left the management of a hockey team by her deceased father. The only problem is that she has to share that responsibility with her two half-sisters, who Harper doesn't get along with. The team is not doing well but to hang onto the team Harper has to deliver a successful season. This is where Remy comes in, with his charming Cajun personality, skills on the ice. and an chemistry with Harper that would melt the ice he skates on. I truly loved this story, the personality of the two main characters was amazing and I loved the interactions between the two. The family aspect is really interesting to me and I love how they are slowly getting to know each other and I think the next two books in the series are going to be amazing. This is the first Kate Meader novel I have read but with the great storytelling, realistic people and an amazing writing style I will definitely be adding the next books to my TBR list.
I'm hardly interested in sports at all but sport romance is whole different kind of fun. Loved the banter between the love interest and found the story to be a very enjoyable read.
Oh I really enjoyed listening to this one on audio. Like really liked it. At the end I had this goofy grin on my face. Before that shocked, giggly,oh you know it, I am glad I did not meet anyone, I must have looked so silly through out this entire book.
It is just something about sports romance, and hey hockey is always good. So I dove straight into this one.
Harper has a lot to prove, to herself, to her dead father, to the world. A woman CAN run a sports franchise. A woman is not controlled by her emotions. She was strong, yet vulnerable. Way too stubborn when it comes to love and I just liked her.
In comes Remy. The one who will save this crap team from going under. And the one that can break her reputation since he is OH so fine and those sparks will put the world on fire.
I did like the do not go there thing, it was bad news in so many ways. But they were SO good together. He was so sweet, and I melted. I must say, Pippa sure made his voice sound fine too. I totally forgot it was a woman narrating that voice.
I would love to listen to more in this series. Awesome.
Narrator Pippa Jayne
Well the credit in s many ways must certainly go to her. For me personally she brought it to another level. I needed more from these two. I needed to know how it ended. I liked her voices for both and they fitted so perfectly. I am pretty sure this one worked so much better in audio for me. Sports romance in audio rocks.
