DNF at 35%. I was trying to stick it out, but the surface-level feminism has a shit load of gross misogyny and alphadouche/little lady vibes floating under it like a lazy, boring river. Not for me. Extra star for decent writing.
i liked the characters but there were a lot of writing tics that really bothered me and kind of ruined my enjoyment of the book otherwise.

This was a fantastic story! I loved Harper so much and loved watching her truly grow through her struggles. And Remy, oh my! Cajun and a hockey player? Can you get any sexier? This man was just so incredibly charming and sweet, he oozes hotness. I loved them.
Harper and Remy are truly great characters. They had the perfect blend of animosity, playfulness, and heat. I freaking love their humor together, it was a bit sarcastic and a lot of fun. They seemed to be exact opposites but somehow they fit perfectly. Harper was just so focused and determined to prove herself in a mans world and she had so many obstacles in front of her. Remy knew what he wanted and then felt like he had the rug pulled out from under him and was trying to make the best of the situation he was in. Remy was written with a Cajun accent that I could totally hear in my head and it was just the perfect addition. It was subtle, not overdone, so it flowed well with the story. In the midst of their struggle’s there is the undeniable chemistry that have these two being pulled together. All of the conflict between the two just made for an incredible story.
Not only is there an amazing romance happening but there is also this beautiful, growing relationship with Harper and her sisters. These estranged, independent women come together to find their place together and really get to know each other. When they really open up and become vulnerable (because these ladies hold things close to the vest) it really made for some incredible moments.
The storyline was fantastic with a wonderful build. Very descriptive with great detail and development. This is told from dual POVs and I thought they both had great voices. I loved the different conflicts involved and the bits of drama. There was a really nice balance between everything and I loved the emotion involved too. I am really excited for more in this series because there were bits of foreshadowing that have me hooked.
Loved this so much. Kat Meader is a go-to author for me. I always know what I'm going to get... a solid, well rounded story with amazing characters, a fantastic build, a nice amount of drama and emotion and sizzling heat. 5 hot stars for Irresistible You!

4.5/ such a great sports romance. Loved how it was equally about sports as well as the relationship. Interesting concept and it was cool to see remys New Orleans culture come into play.
I loved this so much; I've found my catnip. Not only is it a romance novel, but it has hockey AND blatant feminism. Reading this during the playoffs was a great decision on my part. Meader's writing surprised me. She's hilarious and eloquent, and I really enjoyed this one. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series and everything else she's written. Full review to follow.
Also on Romances Ever After.
I’ve been steadily rereading Irresistible You ever since I finished it the first time, and yet I still don’t know how to articulately review it in a way that gives the book justice.
Harper intrigued me in In Skates Trouble, and I grew to admire her in Irresistible You. She is a smart, astute businesswoman, and I love how strong and determined she is to succeed in a male-dominated field. She is fearless and passionate in saving a failing legacy her father left her and her estranged half-sisters. Despite their awkwardness with each other, I love Harper and her sisters Isobel and Violet. I’m fully rooting for them to bond and become the power trio in the hockey business.
Remy is hard to dislike. Sure, he’s hella cocky, and when we first met him I, like Harper, wanted to smack him for being so uncooperative, but he won me over with his easy temperament and Cajun charm. Seriously, Remy might be my ultimate favourite Kate Meader hero yet (sorry, Eli, but I will always love you). He’s devoted to his family and aims to settle down and have a family of his won, he’s awesome with kids, he’s funny, he cooks, he even sings... He has the ultimate package (ahem) and ladies, he is the ultimate package himself. Harper doesn’t stand a chance (and neither do I).
I enjoyed the whole hate-to-love vibe between Harper and Remy so much. Oh, the progression from you’re a pain in the ass to you’re MY pain in the ass is absolutely delightful. They just suited each other so well. I love how Harper is happier and more relaxed around Remy, and I love seeing her interacting with Remy’s family. I love how Remy’s priority (he’s so single minded about winning the Cup) changes the more he’s involved with her.
Overall, it’s such a great story and I’m still in love with it. I can’t wait to see Harper’s sisters finding their own HEAs. The sneak peek about Isobel’s second chance romance story with Vadim makes me impatient for their story, and the little hints about Violet and St James also make me long for more.
Right now, Irresistible You is at a special week release price of $1.99 so don’t miss out on this deal!

Where's the 6 star option?! I've been reading Kate Meader's books since her Chicago firefighter series. Her writing was what immediately had me hooked. That has not changed. This book was downright addictive! I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Remy and Harper. Their attraction flowed off the pages and had me rooting for them. From the brilliant plotline to the fun side characters this book has it all. I can't wait for the rest of the series! 6 stars!
