it took me WAY longer to finish this than I thought it would I honestly wanted to dnf it at one point but I pulled through. some parts were okay but as a whole it wasn't what I was expecting and was just a little disappointing. solid 2.5

I always love these two narrators. They do a great job bringing the story to life.
This is a cozy hockey/cowboy romance. Jasper was a little broody and bossy while sweet and protective. Sloane is a women engaged to the wrong man at her fathers will. Crazy events happen and Jasper is there to whisp her away from almost making a HUGE mistake.
These two have been friends for a very long time. Sloane having a not so shuttle crush on jasper since she was a young girl and met him for the first time.
Jasper is a little better at hiding his true feels and after an impromptu road trip he finally admits his feelings.
Things light up from there. I loved this story and these characters. This series is really good. If only it was duet narration! But it doesn’t hold me back from enjoying the story.

I had heard so much dislike to downright hate for Powerless that I was beyond pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it. I’m a huge fan of childhood friends to lovers, so I was sold from the beginning. The drama of Sloane running from her wedding was just Delicious. I loved their backstory, though I did find some of their past to cause a little secondhand embarrassment but that’s parr for the course with childhood friends to lovers lol. It did seem to drag on a little bit with the will they won’t they. But it was worth it for everything at the end.
I finished it and had like an okay time but it’s one of those reads where it feels like I ate fast food and am having heart burn. It was borderline cringy hetero but like I finished it ?
