lighthearted

2.5 rounded up.

My least favorite part of this book was the main love story. It felt inauthentic somehow… I don’t know, it’s hard to explain. It was just missing something. The spice/ kinky parts and dirty talk felt awkward, too. Jasper and Sloane’s relationship didn’t feel natural.

Sloane’s dad is the freaking worst. I’m so glad he got what he deserved.

Harvey Eaton needs a 32 book series written about him, I love him.

a hockey romance in the middle of a cowboy series threw me off a little, but this was still such a cozy read. that poor man was so damaged and she was so enamored by him her whole life anyway. the best friends to lovers of it all was adorable
2.5/5🌶️

Because I’ve been staring at Jasper Gervais since I was ten years old, and suddenly… he’s staring back.

This book has truly made me believe that Elsie writes no bad main male characters, I absolutely loved Jasper through this book and I really melted when he lived up to the saying actions speak louder than words, I loved the little subtle things he did for Sloane without having to make it a huge performance and always having to get something out of it. I unfortunately did struggle to connect with Sloane throughout this book and I felt at times she was just mad at him for no reason and for me it came across like sometimes she was talking down to him and thinking she was better than him and I didn’t gel well with that. I still adore the found family we have with this whole series and I love that within each book we still get to see and connect with the rest of the character. I can’t wait to read Theo’s story next!

Gostei mesmo muito deste livro! Não tanto como Heartless (porque, sejamos sinceras, é difícil bater o Cade e o pequeno Luke

Reading all of Elsie Silver from the beginning, I read some of Chestnut Springs last March and ended up DNFing at this one before. I think it was mainly because I got in a reading slump not because it’s a bad book. I did enjoy it much more this time around but not my favourite of the couples.

Sigh. I had high hopes for this one- the best parts were the spice scenes. The rest was boring or annoying. And after taking forever for them to finally get together then the self sacrificing break up happens. No thank you. 3 stars for Jasper being a hot dom
