This book was cute, albeit too cute. I had a very hard time believing the "rivalry" part of the dynamic. Overall, it was a solid book, but doesn't stand out for me in the genre.

While this book may not be winning any prestigious writing awards, it still stole my heart. It was an absolutely adorable romp through a cozy fantasy world with the cutest couple. And don't forget about the spice! It had everything I loved, including enemies to lovers, witty banter, and lovable characters. That even includes side characters. If you're interested in a fun historical romantasy, this would be a great book to try.

I enjoyed this book so much! The conflict between the main characters was juicy, dramatic, and believable. There are some wonderful twists and turns and lots of silly moments, plus amazing chemistry! I love the world building too, it's so fun and evocative. It's cozy and fun but emotional, the characters are complicated, deep, and lovable, each with goals and secrets. Their conflict feels totally justified and completely unsolvable until it isn't, and the pay off was amazing. I finished it a couple months ago and I still think about it constantly (and may or may not be writing a fan fic inspired by it)
