A steamy fae romance was exactly what I needed to kick off my summer reading. Edwina is an author who somehow found fame in the faelands. She was invited on a book tour with the opportunity to be signed with a publishing house in the magical world. Edwina thought the book deal was a sure thing, until she realizes she has competition. William, a pretentious poet, is trying to take her opportunity away from her and sign with the agency himself. Losing isn’t an open for her, and she is willing to make a bargain with the fae to win no matter the cost.

I devoured this story in two days, as a mother of a toddler this is a huge deal!
I am such a sucker for witty banter and these characters were butting heads from the start. The competition and mind-games they played were clever, frustrating and sexy all at once.
Needless to say, I enjoyed the read and will be continuing the series. Would recommend to anyone looking for a swoon worthy romance.

Loved the characters. Loved the banter. Loved the world building. Loved how diverse and accepting the world was.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book but I did find it to go on in parts which may have been to match the mildly regency aesthetic.
The book could have been 50 pages shorter hense losing 1 star. That is personal preference as I do prefer faster paced, slightly shorter books.
That said I will be reading book 2, as it did have me fully captivated by all the characters.

At the start I feared this book may be too cozy for me lol. But it was actually perfect.
I love the characters and how deeply they are explored. Their little quirks and personalities. I love the MMC who pretends to be a charming poet to save his little sister. And the FMC who is both curious and awkward, finally receiving the fame she deserves. And how both are desperate for the contract which makes them rivals.
The romance its so good, perfect rivals to lovers romance with a scene where they are seducing another person but they only have eyes for each other. So delicious!
The world is so charming and filled with little cameos of characters from other books set in the same world. I really liked that. It made me want to read all the books I still haven't yet of this author. I also really liked the light touches of humor.
The spice was also a delicious slow burn.
Overall this was a perfect romantic, cozy read.
