3.5 - This little book kept me entertained. I listened to to the audiobook (only 4 hours) that was narrated by the author. I found him to be sweet and charming. Lots of fun stories and anecdotes. If you follow Jordan on Instagram, this is a must read for you.

It was bittersweet hearing Leslie's distinctive voice, telling tales in his sweet way. Even though life was not perfect for him, he has had so many happy moments, and I loved that he shared them with us.

"Our parents did the best they could with the light they had to see with." Yep!
Listened with Brain: we found this audiobook—read by Leslie Jordan—as charming and adorable as Leslie was.

Quick read. Funny. Not one I'd pass along or insist people read, but a good palate cleanser.

I loved this book so much. I wasn't even a Leslie Jordan fan before his passing but I am a fan of him now. His memoir reminds me so much of my other favorite essayist, David Sedaris. I fully admit that I found myself tearing up whenever he talked so optimistically about a future that we know now he'll never get to experience. Audiobook note: It is read by the author! His accent is just so adorable and you can't help but love him.

Entertaining and touching by turn. It was a little eerie listening to the book read by the author shortly after his death and a bit sad someone so brilliant and talented is no longer creating.
