Top rate crime drama set in Canada. Bones are found underneath a small chapel in the mountains. Upon discovery we dive into a community with secrets, affairs, and more. Narrator is well developed and definitely has her own story that should be shared.

Just a really great story. We follow cold case detective Jane Munro as she investigates a body found decades after a disappearance. Loved Jane and her team. The way a lot of the “suspects” acted had me constantly unsettled, not because of any imminent danger, but because you can never be sure what truly desperate people will do. A number of tough topics were touched upon, but done gracefully and realistically. Seems like the author wrote this as a stand alone, but would make an excellent series.

I really liked this! I found Jane a compelling protagonist and the actual mystery was really intriguing. I would love if this was a series following Jane in the cold case unit, and her backstory feels like it leaves the door wide open for a sequel as well.

definitely got some mixed feelings on this one. on the one hand, some elements felt a little too similar to A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (which I ADORE), and that did make the storyline a little predictable. on the other hand, I love Jane and her team, so that was a bonus. definitely not my favorite by this author, but it was entertaining at least!
