Good book! I think if you like League and books this is a very good read. If you don't like those things then you probably won't care. Overall it was super cool learning more about the Ruination and what happened there. I liked the ending tying it into more current League lore, I was worried it was going to be full tragedy and end on a "well that sucks" note and it didn't completely do that so that's cool.
2.5* out of pure sentimentality
Shits kinda boring ngl (even more than the game)

I had to read this book after being completely captivated and obsessed with watching Arcane on Netflix, which was an absolutely masterpiece. I’m new to the league of legends world, and have never played the games, but this book felt like the perfect thing to pick up after finishing season 2.
Ruination was such a fantastic fantasy read, with incredibly strong female characters alongside references that fit perfectly into the Arcane Netflix series, yet sit as a standalone in the league of legends world. It was fast paced, with great world building and character development throughout . I was fully invested in the storyline and how it would end. Would I have given it 5 ⭐️’s if I had previous knowledge of the game and its characters?, maybe, but none the less this was a solid fantasy read!

I honestly thought what I didn't like about this book, so I could give 4 stars instead of 5. I love league's lore and 5 star rating would feel like I'm biased. But no matter how long I thought about what I didn't like so I could lower the rating, I didn't find anything. A minor details as "I wanted more Isolde" isn't good enough, because I would devour a whole book from Isolde's POV.
In short 5/5 Ledros deserves everything in the world and more.

4 stars because i'm biased and am loving the expanded league lore that i never knew i needed :")
first found out about this book from my boyfriend, and was genuinely curious because knowing more about a game i regularly play is always fun, and i already know league lore and animations go craaaaaazy!! usually dislike reading books with several perspectives to take from but the cycling through kalista, ryze and thresh (iykyk) was refreshing and better outlined the plot of the book as it progressed. loved seeing other characters from the game within this book that you wouldn't typically expect, knowing this book is primarily around kalista and viego. but what happened to viego ??
overall a frustratingly, delusional tragedy from viego's point of view and just a heartbreaking tragedy from kalista's. really, really would love to see more league novels in the future and will read them with more fervor than i did with ruination (to be fair, it was my first book i've read on my kindle and i'm still not used to it ahdjksjfkskf).
