After the first book I was hoping this one was faster paced, and boy was it!!! Unlike the first book that was a slow to medium paced book this was a medium paced book that was full of action when I was least expecting it!
I was pleasantly surprised when we got so much action in what seemed like the short amount of time but was actually the first 40% of the book. It was like I blinked and I was almost halfway through! That is when I know that I am loving a book. Not to mention when I can read a book and it plays like a movie in my head.
The story within this book definitely didnt go as I thought it would. It took me for a ride that I had no clue as to what was going to happen next or where we were going from there.
This was definitely much better than the first book and I loved being able to see much more about Keira in this book and I am very excited to see more about her, Zoe and Mason in the following books!

This being the second installment of the Gravekeeper series, and in my honest opinion, far better than the first one!! That is by no means suggesting that [b:The Whispering Dead|55479351|The Whispering Dead (Gravekeeper, #1)|Darcy Coates|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1601469052l/55479351._SX50_.jpg|86522793] was not good, because I also gave that one 5 stars. The Ravenous Dead just had so much more to the story and for me that became that much more interesting.
This was such a great creepy book. I loved the whole concept of the shade. Very chilling. We also get to learn a little more about the cast in this one as well. Zoe, I just want to slap you for being so annoying, then hug you till your eyeballs pop out because your annoying personality is so damn infectious!!! I'm really enjoying the development of Keira's character, and we also find out her real name... at least I think so, but who knows what twists this series has for us. I may be wrong, but I think I seem to recall reading somewhere that there will be a total of 5 books to this series. Feel free to correct me if this is incorrect.
Anyone into creepy graveyards and spooky ghosts with crazy past lives, and great character companionships should definitely pick this book up, as well as the first one. You will not be disappointed!! Darcy Coates is one author who has consistently gotten two thumbs up from me from the very first book I've read of hers.
