OH MY...
What can I say about this book ... Incredible, brilliant. The way it moves towards an unexpected ending ... And again Jennifer leaves us with a murderous suspense, and I can assure you that I have to bite my elbows not to scream spoilers from the rooftops !!!

It’s been a while since I was immersed in the world of Evie/Nadia, Luc and co. But it was good to be back. It took me a while to get into Evie’s latest outing but after about a third it was another thrill ride. I loved seeing all the characters from this series and it’s ‘parent’ Lux series (anyone know what the right word is??) and even the Obsession spin off. It’s great seeing the old gang.
After the events of the previous book, Evie’s world has taken a dramatic turn and now she’s learning the true extent of her powers. And wowsers!! She has some pretty awesome powers. I love how there’s still the snarkiness between the main and supporting characters (namely Luc, Daemon and Hunter). There were some surprises in this book that I didn’t see coming - especially that ending! But you can tell the series is coming to an end, as all the characters from the Origin, Lux and Obsession books are converging. And I don’t know how I feel about that.

I kind of want to give it a 2.5 actually, but I like Luc too much, so it's a 3.
Well, first of all. Hideous cover change. I really don't know why it was changed. I thought the other covers were beautiful, and I would have loved to have seen more versions of such a design. I really hope there will be a different kind, because I plan to buy them as physical copies (yes, that's how much I really, really like Luc) but this one here would destroy the aesthetics.
Anyway, how to sum this up....well. Did anything really happen? Throughout these almost 500 pages, did anything really happen? Because a lot of it seemed...pointless, almost. It felt as if the book was unnecessarily lengthened. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about Luc's screentime, but plot-wise? For example -- somewhere around the end, Evie went and accompanied the doctor throughout her day, but why?
Also, Evie finally realised that Luc has some shit weighing on him, and I wish it didn't take so long, and that we could have more heartfelt stuff like that. I wanted them to clash; there was supposed to be something brewing there. I love their relationship, I love Luc, but why did it feel so glossed over?
I think the end was really cool though, and I am excited enough to anticipate the next book. I think that was a twist I didn't see coming, and I am very curious about how this all plans out.

Was it to give Evie something to do? Because I'm not going to lie, they made their way to this safe zone, but that's where it just stopped. The plot just took a break here, and all we got after that was some randomness, something to pass the time til the end. Again, I appreciated the fact that we could see Kat and Daemon and their baby, and I understand what the safe zone was meant to catalyse in the story, but truth be told, it was not very well done, and I have seen Armentrout pull some really cool shit in dope ways.Also, Evie finally realised that Luc has some shit weighing on him, and I wish it didn't take so long, and that we could have more heartfelt stuff like that. It’s book review time! I just finished The Brightest Night (TBN) by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
This is book 3 of The Origins Series, a spinoff of Armentrout’s Lux series, telling the story of Evelyn Dasher, a regular girl who discovers her entire life is a lie.
Let me begin by saying that I thought this series was a trilogy, and that I was reading the conclusion.
I was very wrong.
This is NOT the last book, and I should note that the final book has not been written. There is no news that shows if/when this next book will come out. This is super important because TBN ends on a nasty cliffhanger, too, so consider yourselves forewarned.
TBN continues Evie’s exploration of her real identity, finally gaining a deeper understanding that she is not 100% human. But she’s not an alien either, and this book dives into what she is and just how powerful she can truly be.
We learn more about what the Daedalus did to her during all those months she was missing, and we get to see more of the post-apocalyptic world following the invasion from the Lux series. Of course, we also learn more about Luc and why the Daedalus continues to be so interested in him.
The deadly, flu-like virus introduced in book 2 takes center stage as we learn more about what it does and who is truly responsible for it.
In this book, Armentrout did what she always does best: give you one plot twist after another that you just don’t see coming. And, of course, Evie and Luc’s romance is a strong focal point, with some of the sweetest moments between her and him that left me sniffling and swooning.
Although this series isn’t my favorite by Armentrout, it’s still a fun read, especially if you enjoy aliens, sci-fi, and post-apocalyptic futures.
I recommend this to anyone who likes

Crap on a cracker! This book! It made me laugh and smile and feel all the nice feels and then brutely ripped by my still-beating heart from my chest. Why Jen? Why?
Luc and Evie are still reeling from the major bombshell dropped at the end of the last book. Jason Dasher is alive and well. Now they must navigate Evie's newly unlocked powers in hopes to control them, but with more and more secrets coming to light this is no walk in the park.
The story picks back up right where book 2 ended and from there gets more and more awesome, lots of familiar faces pop up, it's part of what made reading this book such a joy. There are so many twists that I didn't see coming and then ending.... well I'm still not over it. I love how JLA takes everything you think you know and then turns it on its head - truly great writing.
Loved the character development from Evie in the book, she really grows and starts owning who she is and accepting what she is, its fantastic to see how far she has come. Luc and Evie together are just magic, I thoroughly enjoyed all their banter as well as the tender emotional moments they share. Also, Luc's snark is on point as per usual - any time he disagrees with someone it's just super entertaining.
In a nutshell...
An absolute must read - just be prepared to expect anything.

Another successful book by Jennifer Armantrout. I love getting getting back into the world and catching back up on this journey with Luc and Evie !
Luc Will continue to be my absolute favorite with his one-liners and his absolute disregard for everyone but himself and the main person he loves and it shows that he has compassion but he also will stop at nothing to win.
We get to see the old crew again which I was very excited for so we see Deamon and Katie, Bethany and Dawson, Dee and archer, and can I just say Grayson is so amazing I absolutely adore him and his dry sarcasm and his damn blow Pops lol !
I will not spoil but if you know you know the bathtub scene is absolutely amazing everything leading up to this was absolutely lovely and I love the love that bloomed.
The angst building up to the drama with Daedalus is crazy and they still continue to blow my mind I did see some of the things coming but I cannot wait till we take down this stupid organization and the ending left me wanting to throw the book but in a good way so I absolutely cannot wait for the next book I need more Luc and Nadia ASAP
