I feel like I’m not asking for much when I say I want a guy who will come into the bakery I work at and pay full price for a bagel but only ask for half knowing you don’t eat enough and will eat the other half he paid for after he’s gone.

It’s not a big ask. He also must be willing to accept hand necklaces and be a virgin.

Not a big ask.

I liked this book a lot! I would have rated it higher but Ivy did not deserve what happened in chapter 25. I liked the football aspect of this book and I really liked the childhood friends to lovers trope!

This was all over the place and the "trauma" of the heroine was a bit unbelievable as to why she ran away from home. I did like the romance between the H and h.

Not every book is going to suit everyone's likes, but personally, I LOVED this book.

I can sometimes relate to characters, but I related with Ivy and her being in her head all the time, festering over her own thoughts so much! I think I'll be saying 'out of your head' & 'head in the game' quite often to myself now.

And this book just kick starts your love for DJ (which is book 2)

„i dare you to hate me, ivy. because we both know you don’t. you couldn’t even if you tried.“

aiden was so cute and thoughtful and ivy was such a strong character that was interesting to read about. i love childhood friends to lovers so I was very excited to start this book but the smut scenes were just okay not bad but nothing special either, actually kind of boring and what really annoyed me was the lack of chemistry. they had sweet moments together, but nothing special.

I was in need of a friends to lovers romance and this one (somewhat) delivered.

Our FMC, Ivy, was very well written, we knew her deepest darkest thoughts, her experiences, why she acts the way she does, we just REALLY got to know her. On the other hand, our MMC, Aiden, was unbelievably surface level, it was like the only thing we knew about him was that he was Ivy’s best friend and next door neighbour. I would’ve liked to explored his introversion and mental health a little more as there was space and opportunity to do so.

The romance left a lot to be desired. It could’ve gone deeper. It was okay, nothing groundbreaking.
