am i gonna act like this doesn't have problems? no. am i gonna act like this wasn't a super fun time? absolutely not. am i gonna officially rate it? hmmm i haven't decided. i think if i rate it it'll end up being higher than it should be oops.
this was my first time reading this book and i will be continuing on with the series and oh my god!! the movie has always been a guilty pleasure of mine and reading the book just brought up so many emotions!!!!! i am fully aware of (at least most of) the bad things about it, and there were many things that i pointed out while reading it as well, don't worry. but the story is so entertaining and so EASY to read and i think the writing style wasn't so bad, either.
it was funny, the scenes with bella and edward getting to know each other were mostly very cute and i loved that the "say it out loud say it / vampire." scene (& others) wasn't nearly as dramatic as in the movie and was pretty chill and other of their convos about their lives were also chill!
i just rewatched the movie (as one does) and i found that i didn't love a significant amount of changes that they made (the italiano for Isabella bit still deserves chef's kiss tho. and bella would never be able to stand on that tree unsupported and not fall)
i'm not going to comment on all the aspects but the co-dependency that edward and bella have for each other is absolutely unhealthy and the love triangle dynamics are irritating (i'm already bracing myself for the next books because i know it'll get even stronger) and edward is too intense in his protectiveness of her which sux & it kinda worries me the amount of young people who had access to this and weren't able to realize that. oof
this will probably me my favorite of the series & i'm super excite to read midnight sun!
also i thought that her name was stephAnie and i'm really shocked to find out that it isn't.
