how have I not read this series before? (well i was two when this came out) this is the perfect book to get me into the fall spirit. it’s got vampires, angsty teens, and the perfect setting. the northwest is a picture perfect for this dramatic love story. i say love story loosely as im not sold on the romance. it’s all a little too insta-loving for me. charlie is the star of this show and i stand by that. vampire baseball is my favorite. the storyline of the vampire hunters was the best part of this

I’m a big lover of the movies and decided I needed to read the books. Of course, i’m sure if i read them 13 years ago like other people my age were, I would’ve been sucked in (haha get it, cos vampires suck blood). I actually think the book is better than the movie. This is however, an example of an extremely toxic relationship and a reminder of why I’m glad to not date men.

I bought the collection secondhand on vinted cos I didn’t want to give Meyer any of my money, after all she does exploit a whole tribe without giving them any of her funds.

All in all, I enjoyed this much more than I expected to, I think the descriptions were good, I think it’s a good story.

Vampires, romance, and teenagers? Nuh-uh! That was my initial reaction. Then I thought I'd read it only to join the ranks of THEM and give it a good trashing. Then came: "You've got to read it!" and "WHAT?! You still haven't read it?" So, I finally picked up Twilight to see what it was all about. And I liked it, enjoyed it!!

There's lots that is wrong with this book. For starters— it's filled with clichés and some awful grammar. It's not literary fiction, I get that, but it's no excuse for bad writing. Also, it definitely doesn't appeal to my feminist side; actually that side is pretty miffed with Bella for being such a damsel-in-distress throughout the story. Then, there was the whole obsession thing which I simply found creepy.

So yeah, I was surprised at how I got carried away with the story. It drew me in so much that I actually pulled an all-nighter to finish this book, enjoying the escape it provided.

An addictive and enjoyable read—if you're forgiving enough to overlook the flaws and wise enough to give your cynical self a much needed rest.
