I know this book is objectively not very good and very Mormon but it is a comfort series for me and I love it

About three things I was absolutely positive:

First, Bella is the worst protagonist I’ve ever read. Second, the movie was way better than this. Third, this book would be cut short about three hundred pages if Bella had a sense of self preservation.

There’s a lot that I can say about this. A lot. I grew up watching these movies because my parents loved these books. I tried reading this book once before when I wasn’t even in middle school and I found that I couldn’t even get past page five without wanting to fall asleep. I couldn’t figure it out until I finally picked it back up and read it again.

Bella is so dull. It’s mean, I’m terrible for saying it, but this girl has two modes: being homesick for a mother who clearly is unaware that her daughter is raising her, and being full-fledged HORNY for Edward. There’s nothing that you could say to describe Bella other than she literally does not give a shit about herself. It’s endearing until it’s chapter 4 and she still ???? Is unaware????

Poor Edward, his human soulmate is so dull he has to have the personality of two people to carry this weird ass relationship…

Also I’m mostly mad at myself because now I’m going to start reading new moon…

2.5 stars

I was obsessed with the films when I was younger but this is my first time reading them.

The beginning was so slow and boring but it got much better by the end. The actual vampire thriller-y aspects are entertaining.

I don't know, it wasn't bad but it's nothing amazing. I think I would have liked it more if I read it when I was younger. I'm sure I'll like the others more though.

I get the hype behind the books now. A little too insta-love for me but it’s just an absolute classic

Wow! I loved it. I read this in high school and don’t remember this book being so good! I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
The movie did not do this book any justice. Bella in the book has more personality than one  portrayed via television screen . I fell in love with her courage and ferocity of love she has for Edward. The book allows the reader a glimpse into a love story that was built on small interactions between both love interest. In the movie the relationship between Bella & Edward is rushed and often lacking. I definitely recommend people reading the book to understand why twilight is beloved. In my opinion.
