4/5 - this has been on my TBR forever because I went to the book signing back in April! It follows the author's race as she won the Boston Marathon in 2018 - I liked how it was written with chapters following the race and then would flashback to other portions of her life or races she had ran. I was super interested in this book because I watched her win at Boston live and it actually inspired me to run my first half marathon.

Loved this one! The story of Desi Linden mostly focusing on her 2018 win of the Boston Marathon. I liked her before but now I love her!

Listened to the Audio, which is read my Linden herself. Another fantastic memior into the lives of runners!!! Much to be relateable, as we have ran the same streets in AZ and CA.

I never know how relatable elite athletes stories are going to be. Des has had the style of an everywoman, including the pithy quote about bourbon in the Boston aftermath. I found her story very relatable. She talked about complicated family relationships, about the intersection of living a dream and managing the politics/business. She talked about clawing back from an injury/illness thoughtfully. A blow-by-blow of her historic Boston win was interwoven between chapters. I was ready to cry at the finish line, even though I knew the ending already.
