In my opinion it was very... Frayed. It would have been much better without the "romance." It would have been an awesome tale about siblings teaming up. I also believe that their "powers" were mixed up. Sadie should have been the warrior/Pharaoh and Carter the mage. There just wasn't sufficient enough explanation as to why they weren't swapped and it made it seem like he got the warrior/Pharaoh role because he's male. The love triangle between Sadie/Anubis/Walt was WEIRD and GROSS. It was very hard to get through. The relationship between Zia and Carter wasn't very well written. Zia as a character had so much potential, but even in the last battle with her as Ra, she needs saving by Carter and is in a dress instead of the Sun God's armour? Her being reduced to a love interest was just depressing. The ending also seemed very rushed, which I sort of get because the series all together has over 700+ pages and he had other projects but I can still wish he had taken a bit more time. Now with this being said, I do think there were many solid parts that really make this series good and enjoyable.
