This book was good from start to finish. I didn’t see the twists, but the end kind of pissed me off. What do you mean you won’t tell me definitively who killed him?!
I really liked this!! Not really sure on my rating for it yet, but I'm happy for how things went for the most part. Definitely wish the ending was more closed, but nothing I can do about that
2.5 stars
I really liked the buildup and the direction the plot was going but the ending just seemed so anti climatic and unsatisfactory. Wish it had been taken in a different direction because it really doesn't do the rest of the plot justice

I normally stay away from YA, but I really enjoyed this book.
While it may not have the most mind-boggling plot twist, the author made the book interesting from start to finish. I liked the MMCs and FMCs. The romance between them somehow made the book lighter, despite it being a murder mystery.
It was almost cozy, but I don't know how to explain it. I would recommend reading this!

4.5 stars!!
But I refuse to round up because I’m very picky with my 5-stars and it didn’t give me 5-star feelings. Anyway…
I liked this one better than One of is Lying! And Tripp Talbot??!? In my head he’s perfect.
✨ great characters
✨ small town
✨ murder
✨ murder AGAIN
✨ AND DUAL POV
What more could you want?? I loved this one. And I LOVE Dual POV. Honestly Brynn is a badass who goes after what she wants and it makes the whole book. Tripp is also a great character (as I mentioned already) and you can tell she thought them out so much! But also… the book is plot driven and not character driven! And it’s so easy to follow but also I never once guessed what was going on (a rarity for me with mysteries). So yes, you should read it.
Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson is one of my favorites and the young-female-lead-investigator-getting-too-close vibe was very similar. I would 10/10 recommend if you like Holly Jackson or any of McManus’ other books.
